    So,
I could use a 99 and up gauge cluster from a Camaro Z28 or t/a on my 97 and it would work?

    ok,
Now I've been told that the mileage is stored in the computer, therefore my actual mileage would display eventhough the miles on the replacement may be more/less? This would be great??

No guess? May be worth it,to get it and see, then have it changed if needed. I have been told that it would set itself though, since the mileage is stored in the computer.

I thought you said mileage doesn't matter? Anyway, 135,000 miles.

Don't think I mention mileage doesn't matter. I said that I have been told that the compuetr nay reset it to the correct mileage, but that's not been confirmed.

How many miles are you looking for, I have a 97 Camaro cluster with about 65,000 miles. Mileage is stored in the cluster not the PCM. Looking to get $45 Shipped

Right now,I have 73,300 miles on my odometer. I know that the mileage can be changed to my actual mileage, but the shops around here are dumb. For that price ,it may be worth it,until I can find someone to legally fix it for me. What kind of shape is it in? and it is digital??

That is correct. I have a 2000 trans am cluster in my camaro and it reflects accurate mileage because I swapped out the led displays.

The ECM might have a record of the mileage in it also, but that is not used to regulate the cluster.
