Looking for complete 3.42 rear end.
I am looking for a complete, brakes and all, 4th gen 3.42 rear end for my 88 GTA firebird. Preferably 3 channel and located in the central Florida area.

Heyyy I will have one that is in perfect condition for sale as soon as I get my 3.73 posi put in. THe rear has only 80k on it and posi functions perfectly! No issues what so ever. Only problem is I'm located up in Pennsy.... so dont know how much shipping would cost.

sorry to post here but you have PM turned off.
Did you try LKQ in Daytona Beach? It used to be called something like Daytona U-Pull it or something like that. Its 2 bucks to walk the yard. There is a u-pull it in Debary off of 17/92 near the St Johns Bridge. There are a couple of u-pull its on East 50 in Orlando.
The only thing I don't like is they have zero inventory so you spend a couple of bucks walking the yard. But...most will pull the hot items and sell from behind the counter. I bet a camaro/firebird rear end would be a behind the counter part at some of the u-pull it places.
BTW, are you sure you really want the whimpy 7.5 10 bolt? I won't even take my car to the track because I don't want it to break.
You can try ebay to. There are a couple of regulars that sell them for about 300-500 + shipping.
Hope this helps find what you need.

sorry I can't find any of the business cards for the places I have been too. I found all of these places by asking local shops, like Tires Plus and stuff like that. The phone book is awful at finding businesses. I have always had better luck asking my local mechanic shops. good luck.

you can also chat with mrr23. He is mod here and an admin on those boards.
i wasn't aware the 93-02 rear end would bolt into an 3rd gen. I thought the 3rd gen was narrower or something like that.

The 4th gen rears bolt up to a 3rd gen fine, but you're right they are 3-4" wider depending on the year. This is fixed by running 4th gen wheels. Right now I am running 02 speedlines with 2" spacers so I just remove the spacers and the rear will fit perfect. You also need to fit the brake lines and emergency brake cable to work. Not a big deal. So everyone says
Appreciate the links I will check those forums out!!
