But its time to start cooking up my next project idea since I just parted out my LSX third gen. And I'm sitting here thinking what I should get....

Must have items are

Rear wheel drive
stick
strong rear diff- IE Not another Fbody
Strong/cheap aftermarket

I'm thinking a Fox body, I've owned a lot of Fords and never had a Mustang

anyone owned both? pros and cons of modding between platforms?

the thing is what is the car most seen at the track... a fox body... every one has one... cheap to make fast... but like i said... every one has one... i was thinking of getting one before i bought my car but i decided to go against the grain and go for something with exotic looks and decent HP to start with...

spend $4,500 for a new crate LS1
about $1,800 for install
and what ever the car caost over $3,000 for a decent one...

right there you are already at teh price of a Fbody... why not save $15,000 and get a vette instead...

i LOVE 94 -96 imps!!!

my brother has a 95... we rebuilt his engine... did a lt4 hot cam and we hand ported his heads... he should be running very low 13's in a 4000+ lb car!!! and he hands my ass to me in corners even with my suspension tuned in... they are a pleasure to drive... ever time i drive it people get out of the way cause they think i'm a cop!!! hahahah!!!

eh, seems fox body is the best way to go. if you don't like the looks, there are like 40,000 body kits, hoods and what not for it. 5.0 is a strong engine. and, heck, it's probably one of the cheapest ways to go over all.

I've got a jensen healey with a 305 in it, hopefully an ls-1 in the works. Maybe a dahtsun 240z, 260z with a v-8 swap, a porsche 914 swap (uncle has one with a 307 and whoops on vipers when he goes to the track), or a miata swap, I like small cars with big motors if you haven't seen a trend yet. And all are cheap and fairly easy to build except the 914's tranny, that can be a bitch.

very clean cars. the interior/exterior is sophisticated enough with technology and design of the time to make you well pleased. but how cheap are they? and are they rear wheel drive?
