    are you on prescription medication?

I'm on 1000 mg daily of depakote for bipolar disorder and mood stabilization, and 150 mg a day of effexor for depression, OCD, and anxiety.

I also have klonopin for anxiety and depression.

    What about you?

Was on Lexapro 10mg for the "side effects". Was on it for like 3 or 4 months and then stopped taking them altogether. I think after taking them and then quitting I'm a little more moody than I was. It COULD be that I have more stress lately of course, but I think I'd have dealt with it better prior to being on anything. I dunno.

These meds keep many a person from going over the edge and can truly help many many folks who have clinical depression to live normal lives...they also have very minor side effects and have shown to be perfectly safe for long term use. I hear this comment usually from folks who have never had any psycological issues and don't understand the problem, or those who may have bad results on Prozac or some of the other older anti-depressants.

For those of you "normal" folks out there that could never understand what it's like to have clinical depression/anxiety, great for you!!! You are lucky and you should feel blessed....but don't try to scare folks out of doing what they need to do to be happy and productive.

I'm here to tell you that living with these diseases is HELL and there's absolutely no reason to have to live like that if you one has access to a good doc and therapist. It can change your life.

The science of psychiatry has come out of the dark ages. Effexor and Lex are particulary effective SSRI's that help most people that take them and can be taken long-term without fear.
