I like the Weather Channel app and widget. I just discovered that it also gives traffic cam feeds where available. I like that, should come in handy when I am out and about and need to decide if I should go through the city or around it.

Also, you may want something like Screen Suite or Widget Locker, to let you see your widgets on the lock screen. By default all the phone will show you is the clock on the lock screen. With these types of apps you can see your home page or add other widgets to the lock screen. Then you don't have to unlock the phone every time you want to check something on your home screen...
