Black- 2002 Camaro SS (crashed)
XBOX repair kit
Well I can hear the drive starting to go out (every loud whinning) on my 360 and since I've had it replaced by mircosoft once already, I dont feel like sending it out and waiting 2 months again. I heard that there are websites that sell a repair kit and you can do it at home, might be a cool project. Anyone ever come across this before?

I'd still take a 360 over a ps3.

Soooo, what do you guys think? Could it be the DVD drive, I already had the wire heat shink replaced the first time.

Here's my suggested repair kit...
I sold mine after getting it repaired the 2nd ring of death failure. I'll stick to PC gaming.

My kids 360 came back in less than 2 weeks! Give'em a try again....Even though chucking it out the window would be fun too.

I know I can have it repaired by Microsoft but its out of warranty and they charge $140.00. The repair kit I heard about is like $30 +/- so thats why I started the thread, to see if anyone has tried it. Like in the one of my above posts, it still works just on it's last leg, so to speak.

i fix 360's and other electronics. Your issue sounds more like the top cover is bent up allowing the top magnetic disk to flutter around. Could be as simple as bending the top cover down a little bit so the magnet makes better contact with the drive spindle.
just some of the stuff i fix, no pics of 360's yet
