xbox 360 3 red lights!

Anyone else have a 360 that suffers from the 3 red light from 3oclock to midnight on the power button? I have to send mine in and wont have a box for 3-4 weeks... I'm pissed b/c I just got to be a major in halo 3. Check out bum on 24s to see my record at bungie.net

those 3 lights = general hardware failure.

try these steps before contacting microsoft:
1- unplug everything, reconnect and turn back on
2- power up the 360 with out the harddrive connected


if those two step dont work then contact microsoft.
360s do have a 3 year warranty so you will have to send yours in to get fixed. They will either fix yours or send you a refurbished.

I hate refurbished crap so I bought th $60 product replacement plan at Best Buy. When mine crapped out, I took it in and without hassle I swapped it for a brand new one.

I was able to upgrade from the regular 360 to the 360 elite (which has less if any problems)


The reason why white 360s are crapping out so much is because of the processor waffer thickness. Its a thicker waffer then in the 360 elites. The thicker waffer promotes more heat and cause either trace wires in the circuit boards or solder joint to pop.

Many people saying upgrading to an elite is not worth it because all MS changes was the case color and adding HDMI. Thats not true there are many improvements/revisions to the elite.

i find that hard to believe...best buy blows donkey bawls. our tv took a shit and they replaced it a couple of times and when we wanted a refund when the 3rd one went out they told us no refunds, didn't have a tv to exchange for at the same price and wouldn't make the price on another similar set the same so we had to pay an addition $100 for a different tv that works worse than the last one...and we purchased the "at home repair" package and they refuse to come and work on the set at our house saying that it isn't covered under the package...plus when you call customer support you have to wait on hold for 4 hours with some jackass in india that can't speak english and tells you to take your problem to the store cause he can't help you.

there is a special technique of punching your xbox360. it will fix your console. spaz knows!

I had that problem once. Like mentioned above, unplug everything then put it back in. Another thing you can do is to take out your hardrive, wait for 30sec, then put it back in. However none of my friends encountered this problem, JUST ME???

The elites are the exact same as the newer 360 premiums....both have the Zephyr board that has HDMI and the extra heat pipe. Both the cpu and gpu are still made in 90nm size...which causes more heat then the 65nm method. All you get with the elite over a premium is a black case, bigger HD and a hdmi cable....which isn't a bad buy since the bigger HD alone is going for $170.

I've heard the Falcon boards are in circulation...they have the 65nm. The easiest way to tell which board you have is to look at the sticker on the box....the one with 4 bar codes on it.
