WTF is this Ebay fraud form?!?!?

Ok I try to sign in to buy some parts for my bike... Ebay apparently has a new form that is trying to crack down on fraud, but i really have an issue with the form...

    it ask for

    SSN
Card numbers, PIN, and verification number (the number on the back)

Im sorry, but it seems like every bit of info they are asking for is specifically designed to rip me off...

that's fishy... but this is why I lean more and more towards buying things new, or in my local area only.

I have never had to sign a form like that and I use ebay often. Weekly in fact. They don't need your SSN or Credit card.

    This.

What you want do is go to: www.ebay.com

    Instead of:

    www.eloay.com
    www.ebay.lol
    www.ebay.signin.com
    wvvw.ebay.com
    www.cbay.com

    etc

i seriously think you got a spam email or something on that one. Where does it ask you for this info--in an email or when you are posting up and item to sell..

The form is gone... I just signed in again and the form is gone... Did Ebay get hacked?

I wish I could have got a screen grab of it.

I signed in to Ebay from an item in order to purchase it... It then gave me this form... The item is real... I looked through my history and i found what i think was it, but that link is now down...

Great. Sorry to hear it. Some other crimimal douchebag trying to rip some hardworking person off. I spent half the afternoon Friday getting police reports and filling out paperwork at the bank because some asshole cloned my debit card and bought $500.00 worth of $100.00 something or other (gift cards the cops think). The only thing I ever debit are gas and groceries. It's fucking ridiculous! Now the bank will take 10 days to return our $$$.

Warning: for anyone that uses PayPal, my wife kept getting "re-verification" notices from "PayPal". They wanted our address, her debit/credit card info + expiration date and the 3 numbers on the back of the card. Anyway we emailed the emails to spoof@paypal.com and they notified us that they were indeed phishing scams. Be warned.

People that do shit like this need to be burned at the stake. Found out the bank has to "absorb" the 500.00. Guess who is getting that passed on to them?

ebay also has a spoof@ebay.com to report to.

I get phishing emails all the time.

The obvious rule here, is never give your info. EVER. And, report the emails. It helps them to break the ring.

Any time you see a suspicious link, hover your mouse over the link and look in the lower left corner of your browser window.

Firefox will show the actual destination, regardless of what the link says is the destination.

Don't know about Internet Exploder since I avoid it.

I use paypal and ebay a lot to and get many emails from both. If it is legit it will always have your Full name and you login name in the mail. If it says anything like "Dear Member" or just your login name it is a scam. If you are curious if the message is real I ALWAYS open a new browser and type in www.ebay.com or www.paypal.com , the actual website. They always have a message box for you, so if it is real it will be in there.

Yep, you were phished or hacked. I'd be really careful what you open in the future. Oh and stop visiting pRon sites.

That's what we do too. If they don't have our info after six years then they're screwed or it has to come through them while logged in.
