would you move to keep you're job? or take a new job?
i'm getting job offers all the time. I like the work i'm in, this company i work with doesn't pay shit but we just got bought out and things seem to be turning around. We acutely are going to have a pay raise system, kinda like the military. Anyway, while things for the company are looking better for the company and the employee's, it's not good news for everyone. We had offices world wide, they have all been let go, now it's down to central (texas area) west, and east. I'm in the east. Right now our office isn't doing so hot.
long story short there may be an offer to move out to central where all the money is being spent. I don't know though. I love where i'm from, but i wouldn't mind going. Two things, my grandfather is getting up there in age, nuff said. other, is my old lady doesn't like the idea. I had a talk with her, but if it comes down to job or no job, i pick job. i want to work, i need to work. I think i know what i would do.. but what about the rest of you guys?

trust me, something worth while comes up i will look into it. but what if you don't find any good offers? i'm not going to work at McDonald's if i have a choice between McD and moving for a good job. i have a career in what i do. i like what i do. and i want to stay with it.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
The company I'd been working for for 9 years got bought out by a competitor back in 03. Being the only engineer (I design all the products, tooling and program machines to make same) they offered me a job with a small raise, less work and paid for all moving expenses. Since it was either that or beat feet and find another job (not something I wanted to do in my late 40's) I took the offer. It was a win-win as although I was born there Los Angeles is way expensive and I could afford to buy a house here in Tempe.
Besides that I was getting tired of LA. It's not the same as it was back in the day...

Keep job and go where they need you. It will probably look good down the road. I'm moving in a few weeks to work in lower AL, of course I really don't have much of a say in the matter.

I'd say keep your eye open for something else. There is nothing wrong with actively looking for another job and maybe submit a resume here and there, you might land something really good.
