    World Record Snowmobile Jump

Levi LeVallee was meant to perform a snowmobile jump for the Red Bull New Year's Eve Show, but a recent injury has put a stop to that. However, Levi LeVallee broke the snowmobile-jump world record during a training run, taking the sled sailing through the air over the length of a football field: 361 feet. Okay, so one foot longer than a football field.

The previous snowmobile jump world record was 301 feet, set by Paul Thacker. Thacker actually performed the jump on snow at Brainerd Raceway.

Levi LaVallee, who holds seven X-Games medals in snowmobiling, is getting treatment at a Southern California hospital.

    I love me some snowmobiles

Sold mine this year to start my frame up build. Deadline to complete this crazy build is Nov 2011. My longest jump was by accident and I didn't land it. Flew about 16 feet or so 361 ft is nuts

If you're longest jump was 16 feet and by accident...you probably don't need a frame up built sled.

Long story to this which would bore the average reader. Lets just say it was a few years ago and with a shitty sled

Pretty much this! Wouldn't mind doing some jumps but baby jumps, not this 800 ft shit

We got some decent hills, nothing too crazy. Most of the time I ride in the UP (Upper Peninsula (Spell?) of Michigan which is the Super Bowl of riding Here is a hill I climbed last year with a 98 600 XCR Polaris Triple. Doesn't look like much but some pros and bikes have had problems before

    Here was my baby

I sold it to a buddy (well kind of a buddy) about 3 months ago and started building my new one (Sorry, no pics) Well he sold it today and made some money off of it. Problem is that he pretty much sold it for money for booze. People on this board think I'm bad at 2 days a week. He drinks from 9am to whatever time he passes out, about 5 to 7 days a week. 9 out of 10 times, he isn't sober. He doesn't ride sober, he doesn't drive sober......its sad and bullshit. SO now my sled is in the hands of someone I don't know because this bum of a friend needs booze

I don't sweat that, in fact its quite enjoyable

I get to put my car away to mod it and keep miles off of it. Usually (Not this year) I would pull my sled out which was faster then 80% of cars on this board including mine. This year will suck balls but it happens

Difference is if you go off the front of a sled or a couch you get run the fuckj over. Flipping is teh gay aswell. I'd say them dirt sickles are less injury prone for a given crash

Sled hits you, your fucked for sure. Older are about 600+ lbs, newer are around 430+ lbs. Nice thing about snow is its a small cushion and when you add your cold weather gear it helps. Hope I never get hit by one

This is pretty much what I'm building but going with some aftermarket parts here and there. I want to do these things......not wheelies but skieelies

The Bluff looks pretty weak. At least start from a stand still at the bottom. Those guys were doing at least 40-45mph when they hit the bottom.

It ain't weak Cameras never do justice to hills or cliffs. (Just watch Slednecks ) That hill in particular is about 150 yards high and incline of 45 degrees with a peak around 60 degrees (Thats just an estimation ) Not the craziest of hills by far but it ain't called "BFH" Big fucking Hill for nothing

Half them had so much momentum still by the top you hear them just blipping throttle because they are going faster than they want when they crest it. Weak sauce hill brah.

Real hill's you gotta keep it pinned till you clear it. There is a sand quarry around here. The piles are probably 200 feet high. They are as steep as gravity will allow. Loose snow + loose sand. Snowmobiles on that keep it to the stops all the way over the top and they still barley make it.
