I agree that even women dumber than an empty box can sniff out money and that in most cases this is probably what's going on. But I also believe that women are as attracted to "power" as men are- if not, more so. In some situations the part of their mind that drives them to select a mate and reproduce confuses where "man" ends and "car" begins. Somehow subliminally imbuing the car's "power" and inherent "personality" to the man driving it. Or perhaps it's a manifestation of sexual appreciation for the driver's own ability to recognize the beauty within strength, even if it is mechanical.

This is absolutely true. It has to do with a female's attraction to her prospective gene donor's ability to provide and care for their offspring and make the reproduction attempt a success in the long run.

Men have a similar attraction mechanism...we like ginormous boobs. Boobs are where they keep the food that feeds our babies, again, because we want a genetic donor who is capable of pulling their half of the deal in the whole reproduce-yourself game.

Perhaps my wife's repeated shopping sprees are simply repeated attempts to self-confirm my ability to...
