Woman Sues Google for Bad Directions, Accident
http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Google-M...news-6956.html
In this case, Los Angeles, California native Lauren Rosenberg said that Google Maps gave her bad directions by telling her to walk down a rural highway. Naturally there were no sidewalk or pedestrian pathways, just loads of hot pavement. Along the way Rosenberg was struck down by a car, and now Google is somehow to blame for her walking down the center of the highway. Although she is suing the actual driver--Patrick Harwood of Park city, Utah--she's also going after the search engine giant for $100,000 in medical expenses and additional punitive damages.
"As a direct and proximate cause of Defendant Google’s careless, reckless and negligent providing of unsafe directions, Plaintiff Lauren Rosenberg was led onto a dangerous highway, and was thereby stricken by a motor vehicle, causing her to suffer sever permanent physical, emotional, and mental injuries, including pain and suffering," reads the complaint filing."
Wow people on a daily basis amaze me to the point that I'm speechless with their stupidity.

There should be a penalty for even bringing such a bullshit case to court. What a fucking waste of time.

Silver- 2002 Trans AM
the guy who hit her was probably using Google maps too.
You see she was using her blackberry phone, so they had a good GPS pinpoint on her.
at the same time the driver who was using his mobile phone (phone type was not available during this message) was directed down the highway.
Google reloaded the map on the drivers mobile device to merge to the left lane. He had done so in a quick manner. Google's initiative to disable a mentally challenged woman was a success because Google does not endorse mentally challenged people from using their products.

Agree 100%. I caught flack for a very similar case that I turned down. People were up by a local lake watching fireworks. At the end of the show, a lady walked out into the highway and was hit by a car. She wanted to sue the driver... I was like, WTF? You walked out into their lane of travel on a highway at night and got hit! They are not to blame. She got pissed and left my office.

For the record -- I don't advertise in the newspaper, magazines, on radio or television. We don't even have an ad in the Yellow Pages, just the normal listing.
