I've read it takes place after Phoenix "dies" and he leaves the mansion in IIRC X-Men 3. That is suppose to be the reason for her flash backs or hallucinations.
I know not in accord with the comic time line but since when has Hollywood ever follow a book or comic?

im not one of the comic people either but I like the movies...sounds like they are going to act like the first movie never happened. Kind of like the first hulk that came out like 8 or 9 years ago...they swept that under the rug and just restarted the whole thing. It was a lot better with Edward Norton anyway...but thats my opinion. The guy in the avengers did a great job too.

I saw it yesterday. Much better than the first one. There was some tihngs I didn't like but hollywood always adds their little changes. Be sure to stay til the very end for an extended scene.

I thought it was fantastic... and it will progress to the next Xmen movie, and in accordance with The Avengers timeline, hopefully Logan will see some fights there as well. Time will tell... but with the Avengers following the Ultron timeline, all possibilities are open.

One problem disney owns the rights to avengers and fox has the rights to xmen. Doubt we will see a crossover any time soon.

And I'm sure they're making a pretty penny off of it too... which makes the level of caring a little less. And I'm sorry, but no movie will ever be as good or as in depth as actually reading the comic book series.
