Window motor replacement - what's your best time?
Well, I just replaced my driver's window motor for the third time. I think I'm getting the hang of it too; start to finish was forty minutes. That was everything, including cleaning off the window tracks.
How's that compare to others?

I was focused yesterday! My biggest issue is always getting the lock "lever" back in properly. If the rod comes off, it takes a while to get it back in place (at least for me). All went well yesterday. Of course, the first time I replaced it (2006, I think) I had to drill out the access holes to get rid of the OEM motor's rivets. Still haven't replaced the pass. window motor yet, but that one is getting verrrrrrrrry slow.

I guess I'm lucky as I've never had that problem with any of my four 4th generation Camaro's.

I used to have to swap the same intervals as you but since doing the window mod I'm on almost 3 1/2 yrs now with no issues.

Had both go on my 96. Took me a while to do both, it was the first time they had been done and my first time ever replacign a window motor on anything. My 2000 never had an issue.

Hey the trick is to get the point at the end of the bend in hole on the back of plastic piece. Once its in slide the lock open / closed and the tightness of the space will pop it in permanently. Hard to explain but if its in front of you you will get it...
