WHY?! why the fuck is it... that i buy the only mother fucking format available... wide screen... and even thought i hav e a fucking wide screen TV... it does not fit me screen... on every tv i have there is a mode to change the size of the pic for true wide screen. the reason that is there is because that your cable isnt wide screen

hmmmm....
there's more than one wide screen format. depends on what material the movie was filmed on. so if you have a 16:9 wide screen tv (1 : 1.77) and the movie is in cinemascope (1 : 2.35) or ultra panavision (1 : 2.76), you'll still have bars.
if you wanna keep the correct proportions in the picture, you'll have to live with it.

You would have thought that a wide screen HD TV would match a theater movie's screen dimensions, but no and that is why we get the dreaded black bars.
I have to admit the plasma had a far better picture than the old cathod ray tube TV's though.
