why I'm rude, insensitive, and unsupportive
Had a funny conversation with my wife Sunday, well I thought it was funny as hell. She didn't find it amusing at all.
Her and her sister went to visit their cousin about an hour away. Her sister has been on a diet for ~6 months now( and has actually lost a lot of weight). She goes every Sunday at 5 pm to "weigh in". This Sunday they were cutting it close to being there on time so her sister called her husband and asked him to grab her a pair of shorts and meet her at the weigh in place because the shorts would make her weigh less. I'm sorry, but that's rediculous and that's basically what I said. She pointed out that it's very important to her sister to which I replied if it was that important she should've taken shorts with her. She then told me a pair of jeans could make a 1 lb difference to which I replied "then subtract a pound from the total". It was then that she pointed out how rude and unsupportive I am. Sorry, but I'm not getting in a car to drive somewhere with shorts to save a pound. Is it just me or is that the most rediculous thing ever to ask your husband to do? I could understand doing it for a ton of other things but a pair of shorts?

Women always ask us to do rediculous things, believe me, I've heard about every dumbass thing a woman could ask from mine. They don't see our point of view though.

women = illogical and irrational

omg bashing women!! haha
i can understand the whole "one lb thing" it keeps women motivated to see themselves losing weight and if she would see an added lb on the scale it might really hurt her dieting. so i understand from a woman's POV
but i wouldnt drive out of my way to bring her a pair of shorts, id tell her to just take off the jeans

Yeah.. I just don't understand why she wouldn't just subtract a pound. Seems like enough to me.

im sure that a pound is going to make a world of difference at her weigh in....if youre bitching over a pound then thats just pathetic. and why the fuck does she go somewhere to weigh in? i guess those scales at home doctor a few pounds here and there right? what a crock of shit..... youre not insensitive, youre just a realistic, rational man who cant grasp what it is to think like a high strung, neurotic woman who doesnt think that others inconvenience is any bit of her problem.
my girl bitches about shit you all would not believe......and i mean it.
but now she has appendisitis and looks cute and is half high so i have to restrain from my "jerk ways" of telling her to feel better and that everything will be ok.
confused by this....so am i.

You're 100% right.
Fucking numbers on a scale don't make the fat on her ass any less there.
Buy her a fucking helium balloon.

Why would you "go and get weighed in"? Has anyone ever heard of buying a friggin scale?

It's part of the motivational mumbo-jumbo packagel. Since they have to actually travel somewhere to get weighed in, supposedly they will make more of an effort to lose weight.
