why does a death penalty cost more?

death penalty cost more than life sentence. Does this make sense?

    According to the article,
The average death penalty case costs the state of Kansas $1.26 million, compared to $740,000 for life in prison.

    WTF?

    a bullet costs $0.50

I never knew this. Always complained that life in prison was a shitty sentence anyway, since they're dead to society regardless, and just costing money, eating food, and taking up space.

Now that I think about it though, there's probably a SHITLOAD more red-tape to clear up before you can legally kill someone though. Lots of people to go through that have to get a slice.

The death penalty costs more mostly because it ties up the judicial system. Salaries to thousands of judges, clerks, police officers, and not to mention fucking lawyers. Also because of the tied up judicial system everything takes forever, and it costs a fuck-load.

Plus convicts can be put on death row for fucking years, housing for them isn't cheap. Now housing people opposed to killing them may be expensive as well, but not when added with what I said above.

It is much worse to kill an innocent man than to keep thousands of guilty men alive.

Plus the majority of the world is AGAINST the death penalty....at least the modernised ones.

yeah, the prison system has it down so that each prisoner only costs a few dollars a day directly...they still have to pay employees though.

prisoners on death row can make appeals pretty often and ring up quite a tab, but i think lifers are limited in how many times they can.

Death penalty in China is real cost effective.
They find you guilty, take outside, shoot you, then charge your family for the bullet.

There are some states that allow you to be shot if you choose so or at least they did. If you wanted to donate your organs to help out or your body to science they let you choose this route. I do believe in lethal injections or gas chamber because its a waste of a body. Cut their ass up and make them save someones life with their organs.

Most of the money that falls to the bottom line of prisoner cost is going straight in the lawyers pocket. Lawyers are bottom feeding anti American cocksuckers. Scum of the earth. Morally and ethically bankrupt.
