Chris Henry Arrested On Gun Charges

For the second time in one month a Bengal's player is in trouble with the law.

Wide receiver Chris Henry was arrested early Saturday in Orlando, Florida. He faces charges of possesion of a concealed firearm, improper exhibition of a firearm, and aggravated assault with a firearm.

The officer who arrested Henry tells Local 12 he believes Henry's intent was to shoot a person he was arguing with. He added if there wasn't so many people on the street, he would have had to shoot Henry in order protect others.

"Based on what I saw, he was directing the gun at somebody, I believe it was his intention to use the weapon. Had there not been a 100 or so people directly behind him that had just also left the club, I probably would have shot him." said Orlando Police Sergeant Dean Deschryver Monday night.

After pulling his gun and telling Henry to freeze, the officer says he watched Henry toss the 9mm handgun into the back of his limo. Officers also found a clip of hollow point bullets for that gun in a nearby gutter.

Police say Henry's gun was stolen from a Tampa area home during a burglary in December. Henry never admitted to having the gun, and is not helping police by telling them where he got the gun.

A girl with Henry that night says the group had trouble in the same club a week prior, so that is why he was allegedly armed.

Henry was wearing his #15 Bengal's jersey during the alleged incident, and in his mugshot.

The Bengals told Local 12 Sports Director Brad Johansen, they are still in a fact finding mode with respect to the latest arrest of Henry.

He still has legal troubles stemming from his arrest December 14th in Covington when he was pulled over for expired tags. Police say he did not have a license, and had marijuana in his possession.
