    Why is it that....

...the SyFy channel has decent tv shows, but pretty much has some of the worst original movies on tv? I see their latest classic is the 12 Disasters of Christmas.

I hear ya. With all the money behind that channel, you'd think they'd do a better job with the overall production. Have you ever tried to watch Battle of Los Angeles?

No, that's Primary Colors. This was most definitively called Battle of Los Angeles.

Nope, I've never seen or heard of it. However, there is a SyFy original craptacular movie called Battle of Los Angeles, that does an absolute cheesejob trying to be like the movie Battle: Los Angeles.

You know I've been wondering this for some time now. There has been many films that become block busters and either just before they come out or right after there comes a b-c rated movie with about 80% of the same plot.

Are the movie producers hiring multiple teams of writers to write scripts for Movie "A", then go over it with the studios and pick and choose which one works best and then makes it while the other b-c rated script goes off to another smaller company?

It just seems there are way too many shitty movies that look almost exactly alike.

For example take "Dredd" and "The Raid" (foreign film) by all accounts they are almost an exact copy.
