    Whooot

I may have a new job come friday. in the NJ hunting forum I frequint ther is quite a few buisness owners so I post up about needing a job. One sends me a PM saying he needs laborers for his company to give him a call ,so I did. His company is almost 1 year old has many jobs lined up in NJ and NYC the pay is great (will explain in a bit) as well as insurance.

The best part he has ADD so he knows exactly how I work and the things I need to do or the cooperation I need to acheive what needs to be done.

Now to the pay he pays his employees that are laborers (thats what I will be doing) 20 - 25 an hour BUT there are jobs that are prevailing pay rate. That means that the Gov't (state and fed) step in and make sure that it is fair pay for the particular job when it comes to public works. Those jobs would pay me double my regular pay or so. so anywhere from 20- 50 bucks or more an hour will be what I am getting.

Now if I get this job that does quite a few things.

    1) my wife will not have to have a fulltime job to make ends meet, we can do it on my pay alone (she is still looking for F/T though

    2) stress levels will drop dramaticly

    3) I will most likely have better insurance than what I had before i lost my other job at a better rate

    4) NO MORE SAYING WE CAN'T AFFORD THAT !

First order of buisness as far as not neccesary but nice catagory would be for me to save money for a 4WD that I want, not just a vehicle to get me from point A to point B, I am so tired of that shit. Of course that comes after the bills, throwing some in savings for "in case of emergency or having to pay in to taxes" and so on.

I tell you this job would be perfect for me,but a nice little monkey wrench has been thrown in. This morning I receive a call from a landscaping company for an interview,I am going just in case the other job falls through but the diliema is this. If i get offered a job at the landscaping job today yet have the interview tomorrow with the other guys tomorrow what in the hell do I say to the guy interviewing me at the landscaping company today. This is the first time I have delt with something like this, I have had people call a week or so after getting a job for an interview but nothing like this.

This to me is along the lines of women becomeing interested in dateing a man AFTER he gets a girlfriend or married. Drives me nuts

If you really want to wait it out for the other guy, be honest. If the interview goes well, tell them you have a couple other interviews that are already scheduled, and you'll let them know by the first of next week. No problem. I can tell you, MOST upper management respect the honesty. There are, of course, always exceptions. You should be able to gauge their personality by the end of the interview either way.

Thats my plans for now I am not digging the idea of the landscape company being seasonal at all. also highly likely that they don't pay as well. If i have no other option I will take it of course and just keep the second job. I want away from having to work two jobs however and the construction job is my ticket out as well as my ticket to the above truck. More importantly it is my way to get all our bills beat down,my son's and wife's medical bills covered and a roof over our head with great ease. Just so you guys know I am not an idiot and will be taking care of the needs before the wants, the truck while being a need with that package makes it more of a want.

Getting ready to leave now for this interview.I will have 3 times the normal nervousness becuase this is an interview with all 3 of the partners. Yesterdays Interview at the landscape company went well, I got a "test" on lawn sprinklers and he said he has to call my references (Cammed expect that call) I really want the one i am going to now though.
