    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

    Question who sells fart cans???

some one asked me the other day "what would a fart can sound like on an ls1" and i said "HORRID" which got me thinking....some engineer actually sat down one day and said "I'm going to design an exahust that sounds like dog shit....and everyone will love it!"

So my question is...who manufactures such annoying systems? surely not respected corsa/borla/magnaflows? I mean really, how are fart cans manufactured that give them such a retarded sound!?

its more of the engine displacement and # of cylinders which give it the sound. if this wasnt true a WRX Flat-4 would sound just like your average civic but since the civic is a I-4 and not a F-4 they sound completely different. but idk who manufactures them.

the i-4 is just inline... the type of engine a wrx has is based off of a porche boxter engine, where the 2 banks oppose eachother in like a flat configuration...

I think they're just open. A lot of the cool sound from other types of mufflers is from the muffling material. I much prefer magnaflows to 2 chamber flowmasters for this reason. The flowmasters are just loud and empty sounding. The magnaflows sounds a little more muffled, but tuned.

Or maybe it's just people's opinions differ

In all fairness the 3.8L sounds like shit no matter what is on it. (aftermarket) Even the GN's with exhaust sound like shit until the turbo spools up. Back in my v6 fbody days people would always post clips of their new aftermarket exhausts and they all sounded good at idle, but when the revved it sounded like shit.
