Who pays?
This happen last week on I-10 near my house.

For those too lazy to click - high speed chase across 2 states spike strips used.
My question is who pays for the blown tires that incident drivers that were caught by the spike strips because LEO's didn't moved them out of the way fast enough?

Like Chris Rock says.... insurance should be called "in case shit". You give them money.... In case shit happens. with both cars i might pay something like 2400 dollars in a year. police pop my tires while chasing someone else??? well I'll see maybe 900 of that back if it were the hawk. Insurance company still comes out ahead. Of course crash and hurt someone and the thousands you paid over that time pale in comparison to the hundreds of thousands they may need to shell out to the other guy... or to you. It's a gamble on their part which is why they HATE bad drivers. Costs them money.

Hmmmmm.... I believe in MD the police dept or the state or county road dept will pay for any damages done to your car by them but you have to file a claim with that particular dept within 24 hrs of the incident or you cant do it at all. And I dont think insurance pays for flat tires. At best they pay for a tow if you have that on your policy.

When my dad was driving his new car around...less than a year old, less than 12,000 miles. He met a snowplow putting salt down. Going rediculously faster than it should have, chunk of stuck together salt blob hit and chipped the windshield. He drove straight to the county garage, and they paid for the fix.
