    Who likes to grill?

Man I just love to grill. Nothing like just sitting outside on a nice day with some beers and friends or family and cooking a nice hunk of meat or burgers or whatever over an open flame. I have always been a charcoal dude but I just got one of these and it's awesome. Later today i will be grillin some chicken and some collossal shrimp.

What red blooded american doesn't like to grill. Nothing like pissing off the neighbors letting them smell what you're about to eat.

I love to grill... I time how long the meat stays on the grill by the amount of time it takes me to drink so much beer. lol

I don't see any place on that grill to add char-coal.....must not be a real grill then.

this is the one I use:

I also use lump char-coal instead of briquets. No clay filler in lump which means a lot less ash when you smoke for hours. I also usually add chunks of hickory for smoke.

I actually have that same grill. I have had it for 4 years. It is a great grill. I just got tired of waiting 45 minutes to get the grill started. It has been proven that there is really no difference in the taste between gas and coals. The chargriller is going to my buddy.

in 45 minutes I'd be eating steaks. there's definitely a black art to using coals and gas is a lot cleaner and faster but there is no way the flavor is close to a properly used coal grill.

It doesn't literally take 45 minutes to start coals but if you can start coals, pre heat and cook steaks in less than 45 minutes you are a magician. Like I siad I loe charcoal but gas basically gets the smae job done faster and cleaner. Flavor difference is minimal at best.

do you just dump the charcoal in the pit and start it there or do you have a chimney? The chimney makes a huge difference as far as getting the coals going. If you stack it right in the pit you can get it to light and take off pretty quick in there too. I have a system. Is it as fast as a gas grill....no, but we're only talking minutes difference to do steaks or brats/burgers. I can easily light mine and have steaks on the table inside of 45 minutes from start to finish. Steaks only take a couple minutes per side anyhow on a real hot grill.....I like 'em medium rare. I also use charcoal and wood. Wood by itself can give a bitter taste so I use the charcoal for heat and the wood for flavor.
I just rubbed down a pot roast and deer roast tonight that I'm going to smoke tomorrow.
