Question Who was the best James Bond?

Sir Roger Moore IMO, The spy who loved me and for your eye's only were the definitive bond flicks imo

    For me it's,

    1. Roger Moore
    2. Daniel Craig, Timothy Dalton

    4. Sean Connery
    5. Pierce Brosnan

George Lazenby doesn't even deserve to be on the list, what a joke of an actor.

Originally Timothy Dalton was to be in Goldeneye but production didn't start until very late and by then it was too late. I would have loved to seen that though, I enjoy both of his films.

    Connery by far.

Moore played the role well too, and some of my favorite Bond movies are from the Moore era.

Brosnan was excellent. He had the swagger that defined the Bond character.

Craig his mediocre at best, and has suffered from incredibly poor storylines.

He was the true original. He defined the on-screen character that many tried to follow. Most younger people seem to cling to the Daniel Craig movies for some reason, possibly because the studio went a completely different direction with the Bond character and trying to make him this dark figure.

Younger crowd aside, Connery is widely accepted as the best. And yes this was discussed at length.

It Depends HUGELY on the movie.

For example, Pierce Brosnan was a great Bond in Goldeneye, but his other Bond movies were meh at best.

Same with Roger Moore. Live and Let Die = great, Octopussy and View To A Kill = meh to bleh.

Daniel Craig: Casino Royale and Skyfall= Great to Good. Quantum of a Sorry Movie = Yech.

it is a toss up between Sean Connery and Daniel Craig...both are outstanding in my opinion, but both are way different...hard to compare the two. Speaking of Connery...did anybody know that he was in Mr. Universe back in the day? Found that out like 2 weeks ago...

Craig is by far the sexiest!

    Then Dalton, love his eyes.

Moore was best with the jokes and quips.

Then Connery for sure, the accent and sexual persuasion.

    (All from this woman's perspective)

    Who are the rest again?

I disagree. Certain people have played the character of James Bond incredibly well, despite horrible scripts. The over all movie may have sucked, but there's just a certain panache or swagger that has always been there when the Bond character was played well. Not really sure how to explain it. This new "darker" Bond character is meh at best.

While I see your point, in the examples I mentioned all 3 Bonds had that swagger in their good movies, but just zombied through the bad ones.

Roger Moore in particular phoned it in for his last Bond movies. And Brosnan acted as if he couldn't wait to get off the set on his last outing.

Craig did hold it together for Quantum. The movie was just so bad it was hard to notice.

I voted for DC because as far as I am concerned the last 3 movies have been the best although Casino Royale was a tad long.

    Without a doubt Sean Connery.

As others have said, I think the character seems to be portrayed very well by all, but Sean paved the way and nails it perfectly.

I did know he competed for Mr. Universe, also the oldest man to be voted sexiest man alive at age 59.

Casino Royale is probably my favorite modern action movie, so I do have a soft spot for Daniel Craig.
