2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
Whitetrash?
How the hell did Trans Ams and Camaros become classified as white trash cars?
I was having a stupid argument with someone and they said that their stunt bike can do 150 and I shrugged and said that my Trans Am can do 160+ and a seatbelt and he laughed and said, "so what? at least mine isn't a white trash car!"
I came to the conclusion that since LS1s have taken the spotlight as the new muscle car engine that people have become jealous and tried to think of a way to insult us...am I missing something?

Drive through a trailer park. See how many 3rdgens are up on blocks or missing engines?
Go to Autozone. How many of the white trash say they're getting some performance parts for their IROC?
That's why.

black 01 red 73- 01 z28 and 73 z28
definitely the late 2nd gens were the first to own that title. with camaro sales in 1979 at almost 300,000 and z28 were at almost 80,000 there were a few of them out there. so as they fell into disrepair the lower classes started to get ahold of them and working their magic with them they gained the title and it stuck. anyway people hate what they don't understand.

Light Pewter Metallic- y2k 8-cylinder catfish
The 3rd generation cars started that trend. It was common to see them in trailer parks.

It's also why insurance is higher for Camaros and Firebirds compared to Corvettes..........simply because the "younger" crowd is who is driving the cheaper (and just as fast for the most part) cars doing the things that the immature "younger" crowd does (myself included at the time).
It's the whole 19 year old storming down the highway at 140+ mph with no regard to anyone else. I did it, and so have most of the people that have owned (or do own) these cars.
