wheres the proof a stock ls1 will do 162 mph ???

I have only had my ls1 @ 138 mph and still pulling good......but wanna know wheres the proof that the cars will do 162 mph ( as stated by many who say the limiter is set @ 162) I did a google search with no luck on the top speed

i think the highest top speed i've seen for an ls1 fbody in a mag was 160 even.

I know me and my friend have pegged the speedo out many many times in his 00 6 speed T/A. None have been GPS'd though

Install the wing upside down and you can fly at that speed. Many a ricer has done it.

i did 145 in mine and shut it down no doubt i would of hit well past 160

i've gone 150 - 155 a couple of times, but never had a straight strip of road long enough to go faster.

i think i had about another 1000 rpm before i started redlining.
