    Thanks for the input.
The engine will be going in 1981 Trans Am Pace Car. The original Turbo 4.9 is sadly long gone and the 350 in it needs to be replaced. I would love an LS6 but figure there was no way I could afford one. I am currently trying to weigh my options to see what I can afford.

The LS6 will be cheaprer than the ZZ4 that you listed... how evr i'm not sure about what modifycations would have to be made to the car to fit it in... i do know you'd need the PCM and wires...

we have summit, fred beans and many others on our sponsor list that would be more than williing to work with you and get that beast running again...

LS6 looks to be $5050 and I don't know how much for all the extra electronic stuff. I don't see how it could be less than a carbed ZZ4
    http://www.shopfbparts.com/servlet/D...5&sfs=4de6e4bf

Fred Beans quoted $4695 for the ZZ4 plus ~$200 for shipping.

The car has a TH400 Trans.

Thanks again for the help and any further advice.

I may be wrong but isn't the ZZ4 the "old school" small block architecture and the LS6 the Gen III which is a lot different? I have heard it's more difficult (and costly) to try to swap in LSX series.
The car currently has a traditional small block in it so I figured a swap to another traditional SB would be easier, plus it wouldn't have all the extra electronics $$ which are above my comprehension.
It would be cool to have a fuel injected LS series but the car needs a lot of other work besides the drivetrain and funds are limited.

Actually I would like a Pontiac 400 or 455 but everything costs more when you don't go SB Chevy.

im sure you can get a complete kit somewhere to swap in an LSX into a 3rd gen.

Maybe you got it when it was cheaper or got a better deal.
How much more are all the accessories for LS6...and will it work with a turbo 400?
