I think it depends on where you live and what small defenseless cable providers AT&T has eaten, errr, merged with... in your area.

ATT is a Texas company and you must bow down to their wishes or be destroyed.

Hmm something new, around here "Charter Cable" is the big cable provider. At least there is some competition.

They have been for YEARS. I used to work for Comcast who was the company who bought out AT&T in this area for Cable and AT&T bought the former company TCI.
They've been in and out of this market for cable for many years.
They're just another cable company when it comes to TV service. Not great, not bad. It was a decent place to work. So was comcast. TCI was the best.
I sat in the same desk all that time. The primary thing that changed was how I answered the phones. Everything else was pretty much the same.
I'm on comcast for TV and internet now. At the end of the day they're using AT&T lines in there some place. AT&T came in and fixed up the whole network around here and upgraded almost everything to digital then sold to comcast.
They're not new to it at all.

they've been doing it for awhile service isn't too bad i like direct tv better because if you ever have to call at&t for help good luck i've waited over an hour on hold to talk to someone. I called back and said I wanted to sign up for new service was on the phone with a person real quick, very bad customer service and they are not the best or the cheapest. They have too many customers not enough customer service and could give a shit less about you.
