when did fbody's become redneck cars
Dont get me wrong I love my TA, it is the 3rd one I have owned but I was just wondering when did they get the mullet driver stereotype. I know the didnt have it for the 1st gen. so when. I have to think it was sometime during the 3rd gen period either that or the smokey and the bandit time. I have a 79 TA so I hope that isnt when. What do you guys think

late 70s to 80s. the 4th gens arent' because they are classy looking overall and they got expensive. In 2002 the ws6 was around 32k, most people didn't have that kind of money, nevermind rednecks lol But its not even so much that they are redneck cars, its that society says they are that way. All the lil ricers love to say it, the movies have portrayed it. so it must be true right? Fuck it.

3rd gens in the 80's. It was a cheap shitty car that look like a (pseudo) sports car (to some people... ). It was THE car to have if you couldn't afford a good, cool, or generally worthwhile car. It was especially desired by people who love having twelve broken cars sitting in their front yard.

It just sucks that the 4th gens which a such great performers got such a crappy stereotype about them. I think that had alot to do with lack of sales.

Pewter- Y2K WS6
third gen's are mullet cars the rest are either Classic or bad assed lol.
seriously third gen crappy cars that any hick with some cash could get. caused all of that. then other people could afford new cars and they couldn't so they got the hand me downs and well they got a bad name.
i don't feel tha tname applies to 4th gen's at all
