Wheel Hop
A buddy bought a new 5.0, 6-speed; tonight was his first night at local tracks test & tune night.

Unless there's more to this, this one's getting locked down here at some point.

I failed at editing / cropping the dudes name out of the screen capture text conversation we was having about the mustang wheel hop issues - it was funny stuff, but didn't want to expose name .... THEN it wouldn't let me delete the post either .... Fail. Fail. Fail

2004 GTO = bad wheel hop.
1994 Corvette = bad wheel hop.
2012 Corvette = bad wheel hop.
1981 Camaro = ZERO wheel hop.
2000 Camao = ZERO wheel hop.
Most guys I know have more issues with their IRS cars than solid axle.

Explain then why first Gen CTS and the V are notorious for it and leading to the rear diff explosions they are famous for
The Goats are famous for them also. There's a reason the Shelbies are a solid axle now even though 01 to 04 Cobras were an IRS that was regularly swapped to a solid axle.Last edited by GTP231; 04-01-2012 at 08:22 PM.

2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
From what I understand the Camaro wheel hop had more to do with the control arms than rear end itself?

Yeah even boxing the factory arms tends to fix the small issues they have. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen 3rd and 4th gens hop. That's including the 3 years I spent working at a shop specializing in them

oh man, if I had enough to buy a new 5.0 I'd think real strongly about getting myself a new-used z06

Yes I know.
Smitty was trying to indicate no IRS car has wheel hop issues and only solid axle cars do
