Whats your pick of firearm?
Finally decided and I am leaning towards the new Springfield XDM .45 other choices I liked was the S&W Sigma .40 or the Glock 23 .40
Before I mkae a purchase I just wanted to get some final input on these choices pros and cons.
Also looking for more input on the XDM if anyone has one.

The Sigma is a ok pistol for a budget but I'd go for a M&P myself. I never liked the feel of the XDs but they are good guns. Ya just can't beat a glock. I have a full size M&P in .357sig, Glock 19C, and a Kahr P9. These all rotate as my carry guns but the M&P has the biggest frame, also packs 15rnds of Gold Dot 357sig.
Best way to make a choice is get up with some friends that have 'em or visit a local range that rents.

I carry the Glock 23, Luv it, but I now want Glock 39 or 30. Compact .45 looks great for CCW

I could zip 2 or 3 people with my bow and them not even know where the shot came from. The only guns I have are for hunting. I have a rem. 870 12 gauge, a .50 cal muzzle loader, a marlin model 99 .22 that my dad bought in '63, and a j.c. higgins 12 gauge that was made in the 50's. If I can't kill it with one of those then it don't need killed.

Sig p239 in either 9mm or 40s&w is an excellent carry gun! Highly recommended for CCW.
For a budget .45 I would check out the Rock Island Armory Tactical. Lotta gun for the money!
Of the 3 you mentioned I would go Glock 23 or the Springfield XDM. I dont care for the Sigma's.
Go to the Gun Shop "fondle" the guns and take home the one that feels the best to you. Good Luck!

Glock, sig sauer, walther. those all rock. I know with the glock if you get the kit you get 2 mags,a cleaning brush and a speed loader. the sig you get gun oil a cleaning brush, not sure about how many mags besides the obvious 1.

I've owned 3 Glocks in my time...thankfully found a sucker to buy them without an issue. I'll never own another. They all had fail-to-feed malfunctions all to regularly, and I never felt safe with them. 2 were model 19's and one 23. Tried at least a half dozen different tyoes of ammo from round nose FMJ's to Gold Dots, to Hi Shocks and Hydra Shocks. Never again. It's not like I don't know how to shoot or handle a gun, either. I've been shooting pistols to the tune of about 300 rds a week for 12-15 years. I never CC'd a Glock with all the problems I had. Figured if I don't trust it, may as well sell it. They're all hype in my experience.
Now I have an XD9SC, XD40 and an XD45, and I have nothing at all bad to say about them. Love 'em all, carry the .40 or the .45 daily. I grew up around 1911 .45's, and the grip angle is the same on the XD, so they just feel right to me. The Glocks had a funky grip angle that never "fit" me at all.
Springfield FTW!

Tough choice here. 2 choices... I have a SP101 Ruger .357 Mag pure stopping power. But I like my .45 XD also. XD holds more rounds. But when you have a .357 mag round say hollow point. IMO not much will get back up after the first shot. When I take it to the range and put mag rounds in it people stop shooting and start asking what it is. I have owned some glocks but really dont care for them. Once I went XD I never shot them. I always shot better groups with the XD over the glocks...
