Invaison from Mars? Where they all have bandaids on the back of their necks and the teacher is a alien? Late 80's movie that scared the crap out of me.

Yes, the remake with Kurt Russell is by John Carpenter and I agree, it's easily one of my favorites.

Nope, that's not The Thing. The Thing takes place in the Antarctic and came out in '82.

Ummm....yes it is. We're invaded by an alien being(s) who have been watching us and how we've been treating the planet and decide to step in and wipe the human race out so the planet can start fresh. It's actually a remake that's been changed up some.

I confess, I typed the wrong damn thing in. I mean't to type The Day the Earth Stood Still in the poll. If a mod can change that, please do. Sorry about that folks!

Lots of these are good, except District 9, that was horrible.

I disagree there. I loved District 9 and picked that as my favorite.

Hell yeah it did. It's one of the few movies that as an adult, I haven't watched because I remember how much it scared me as a kid!!

As for pure watchability, I chose Transformers. There are technically better movies on the list, but I can re-watch Transformers over and over again, so that counts for something. Maybe it's just Meagan "Dumbass" Fox that helps that one...

And was The Day After Tomorrow an alien invasion movie? I thought it was a global warming dooms the earth movie?

    -----

OK, looking back I see others have already commented on The Day After Tomorrow...

Also, I agree about District 9 being a good movie. I get tired of people/groups looking for messages and meaning in movies and tearing them apart as political messages (not saying anyone here is doing that, just that it got a lot of that kind of discussion at the time). Can't a movie just be a movie? I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed Avatar, for whatever it's worth, despite all the groups telling me it's a liberal advertisement. Whatever...

Also, I just saw 'I am Number 4' which is an alien invasion movie, and it was pretty good too. Better than I expected...

i liked district 9 as well...

but independence day is a classic even though its only 15 years old...for me, it goes down as one of the greatest alien invasion/whole world comes together to stop the end of mankind movies.....
