What would OT do? (long read)

So I was at a local 76 station fueling up. Nothing out of the ordinary. Hand on the pump handle watching the little video about how great their fuel additives are. In a flash the pump handle kicks out of my tank and sprays gas all over the rear quarter panel and falls on the floor still spitting fuel. I'm now standing a pool of gasoline and my only thought is that I'm going to burst into flames. I grab the handle and stop the flow of gas. Then quickly pull out the entire bucket of window wash fluid and pour in on the floor to dilute the gas. (Next is the issue that pissed me off) I head over to the service attended and ask to borrow a few of the shop rags to clean up the pump rank and the side of my car. He stands thinking about it and literary started walking in circles. I say loader, "SIR! I'll give them back, there is fuel all over the ground and I want someone to get hurt." He still does nothing. I start pointing at the rags in the box. He then says "Well I am not going to give them to you” Then helps a customer with a bottle of water. I said "Are you kidding me?! There is fuel all over station 3 and you’re not going to do anything?! Where is your manager?" He said "No manager, just me." I leave and grab all the paper towels from each station and cover the spill area. Takes about 20 mins to clean up the mess and then I let my car roll forward to the next station to make use everything is cleaned of my car. I was still really pissed off at the total lack of customer service, so I went back inside and asked for a business card or some type of address. He said "No, I have nothing to give you." I then ask what his name was, (because they just grab shirts off the hanger that are something that aren't even theirs) and he said “Why, you going to tell on me?” I got his name from the front counter plate and made him printed my receipt. He now has that "I'm fucked" look about on his face and then said "Well let me go take a look" I said "No, I dont want you to miss your TV show."

Cliff notes - Gas pump broke and sprayed fuel all over the side of my car and pump island. I ran in side for help and the attendant told me to fuck off.

So here is my question?

a) Let the whole thing just go and be grateful I don’t have his shitty life?

b) Write a letter to the manager and district manager about the horrible service and lack of safety?

c) Put on a monkey suit and ransak the place next time he is working?

why did you bother to clean it up after he refused to supply you with shit to clean it with... why would you even want to clean something that is thier fault due to faulty equipment??? i would have said "hey fellow... you got a mess out there after you ring up all my shit" and left...

Actually, the best course of action is to call the corporate office and speak to them.

Thats a good point. There is a bus stop right on the other side of the crub and I know someone would have flicked a light butt and burnt the whole place down or worse. Sure it wasn't my fault but I dont want that kind of karma.

why feel guilty... you would have effectivly told that man working there that there was a problem... it would then be his actions or lack of that determin the fate of the place...

I see your point. But I saw that he wasnt going to do anything about it, so I took matters into my own hands.

At $4 a gallon I'd be ringing out those towels into a 5 gallon bucket.

well you can't save the world... hell... could have gone back later and had a "slip and fall" on the spill and became rich off of that mans lazyness...

yeah... just think... a year from now after the gas station takes your settlement for a lump sum of $500,000.00 and full coverage of all medical bills accident related past present and future, you could be posting from inside your very nice house and braging about your ZR1...

I actually would go over the managers head. I've found that the best results in any 'problem' or dispute is to take it immediately to the highest level possible.
