I went with a set of Falken ZE512's just to hold me over till I got new wheels, cause they were like $82/tire on sale, but they're good tires all around. I'd buy them again

I had the Nitto DR in 315's on the rear and loved 'em. Went through them fast and now have Federal SS 595's on the rear (275). Have the 555r's on the front and love 'em. On the old 95 I had Pirrelli P Zero Nero M+S and they were awesome and only a fraction of Michelins (pricewise). Tirerack the two and you will see, every bit as good...

The tire choice of brand for me depends on the type of car it is, what I want to spend on tires and what I want to use them for. I don't think there is one best tire out there for everything. If you think there is then you will be compromising in one area or another. I've had good and bad experiences with quite a few different brands. So I'm not loyal to any manufacturer.

I'm running Yokohamas now and love them. I've had Firestone Firehawks and Goodyears from the factory and HATED them. I put Kumhos on while I was still using the 16 inch rims and they were VERY good for the money.
