What the hell is a Wish list?

I was on couple of product sites and right next to Add to cart, there is an option for Wish list. What is that for?

They will hold the product there for you so you don't have to search again. It goes in your wish list instead of your cart. Then, if you want it later, you take it from your wish list and put it in your cart and check out

It's for whenever you get married or knock a chick up, you send that list to everyone so they can buy you stuff. Then you realize the website needs to hire a better programmer because it doesn't remove items off the list after someone has purchased them, and so everyone gets you the same cheapest item off the list.
