so...nice to see that my thread posting a question about my stereo problem was deleted and i wasn't notified about it.

anyway...i posted in the stereo/electronics section earlier asking about my monsoon head unit in my 99 z28 manual trans.

i need to know if the trans or engine is run through the theftlock in the head unit for the car functions. is the stereo a direct swap out plug and play deal or would i need to get the VIN from the donor car to swap the stereos. it's a UN0 code (monsoon head unit cd player).

and if this thread gets move or deleted i'd like to be notified why this time instead of searching around and finding absolutely nothing.

I just switched my head unit with no problems. Didn't have to do shit besides getting a new harness to plug into my car harness

did you use a factory head unit or did you switch to an aftermarket head unit?

I took the shitty factory head unit out and replaced with aftermarket head unit. Hooked the harness up and away I went. Been working with no issues for about a year

no requirement for an interface module then from the sounds of it...

well...that's good news then. hopefully the gm garage gets back to me here tomorrow and confirms. or a gm tech on here can confirm.

Never heard of a interface module and mine works. Cutlass would probably know but not sure if he is online. Us WI guys need to help each other out

My mistake.. Was cleaning the thread of the Ed rs feeds that dont work. Sorry the thread is back open. Most sections have moderators names next to them. You can always PM a mod and ask for help also.
