what is an FRC corvette?

is it the predecessor to the c5 z06?... i googled it and i can't find any real info...are they worth more than regular corvettes?

I'll be honest with you, I'm not real knowlegable on vettes

I just know that's what it stands for and a few odds and ends. FRC's were 6 speed cars only and came with the z-51 suspension package. They're a little lighter than the regular coupes. The z06's were available in FRC only. Ok, that's about all I know.

man, i never paid attention to that, just assumed all corvettes were t-tops or verts! (granted i'm never around them, just see 'em cruising and have never really looked

They quit T-tops with the C-4 I do belive(maybe wrong tho). Then went with the targas, or sport tops what ever you choose to call them.

i did some looking around, looks like they stopped doing t tops when they brought the vette back in 84

^^^haha pretty much sums up the whole roof types, except for that one that VW and Porsche do with the canvas. I forget what thats called.

Sunroof ( not really a diffrent from FRC -- but i don't recall the Vette with a sunroof option from chevy?

Gull-Wing -- not really roof either, but definately changes the roof when the doors are open.

I own an 00' FRC... They were produced in 99 and 00... they are basically factory autocross cars... they dont have any performance mods... they do have z51 suspension, all are 6 speeds, all have black interiors, weigh about 80 pounds less than a targa, 12% stiffer (what ere that means), and they are pretty rare... i think about 5,000-6,000 total...

It looks like a Z06 without the options. Very nice looking cars. I've got an 04 coupe and wished I purchased an FRC or a Z06. But hey, couldn't pass on mine just because of the price I paid for it !!
