    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

what do you wear to work?

@ my day job I have to dress "business casual" which i consider too up tight for the creative field. I have to wear dress pants and a polo or button down every day and nice shoes. I freakin hate it! so what do you wear?

Go find another job. Business casual is comfortable and is more inline with how people prefer to dress for work. You should have worked 20 years earlier, when suits and ties were the norm for the day. You would appreciate business casual today.

Diph you know I got the same code as you. Except the sales team (which I am a part of) wear nicer shirts and pants. We never wear polo shirts or short sleeves. The graphic designers and tech support wear much more casual gear. I don't mind though. When I go on an outside sales call (like this Friday)I have to wear a suit and tie.

In a creative field I don't agree that professional attire be required.

It's pretty casual around here. Some dress business casual others casual, depends on the person and mood. Most of the time I'm in jeans and Timberlands.

I work in a plant but I am an engineer so I usually end up wearing jeans, a collared shirt, and steel toes

I have a home ofice so I can work naked if I want.

However I normally wear jeans and t-shirt. I do put on khakis and a jersey if I actually have to go somewhere.

In response to the original question, I really don't consider business casual as dressing up

Not really. I'm an estimator for a fire protection company. No dress code. Just use some common sense. Some days it's jeans, others slacks and a tie.
