What do you call sportmanship for cars?

This was a random thought that I wonder if anyone else does or cares about. I know my car isn't much but it's kinda loud. Based on the reaction of my kids (covering their ears), maybe my kids a wimps, but maybe it's caused me to pay attention to stuff...anyway

I got home from a deployment a few months back and my mom came into town to see me. My body being acclimated to a time zone nearly opposite of EST I woke up at like 4AM. My mom called me just before 5AM and I left in the Camaro to go get her a few minutes after. We went to Starbucks and sat there for about 2 hours or so. Just as we were leaving I had a van pull in right next to me in a totally empty parking lot. I initially was annoyed because my car was literally the only one in the lot but I got over it waiting on the lady so I could get in my car. They were on my driver side and she didn't notice me as she opened the sliding door of the van and started to get trash out. It was obvious they were traveling and there was toddler asleep in the back of the van. As she saw me and moved to let me by I let her go ahead and finish what she was doing and told her I would wait because I didn't want to wake her kid up with a cold start right next to them with the poor kid still sleeping.

I momentarily picked up an old habit and smoked a cigarette with my mom (about 50 feet from the sleeping kid) until the dad came back and they headed up the road.

I have no idea why that popped in my head tonight but is there something that is known as? Being thoughtful and considerate in athletic sporting events is called sportsmanship. What's it called in the world of sports cars when there's no current competition?

This question doesn't really fit my username does it...

I don't know the title but the definition includes being in the top 1% of society.

To further relate it to automotive, hanging back in line at a red light to allow someone to exit a parking lot when there's a lot of traffic, and they'd be stuck waiting when the light turns green.

    I call it "Carma" karma

I still do hate pretty much everyone. It's just easier that way and everyone knows where they stand with me.

I did feel good about myself when I got to leave the parking lot that morning.

Good move. Too many of us seem to forget that simply being nice can go a long way toward reminding those we are nice to, how important it is to show some courtesy and respect.

Heck, if I just drive through a parking lot car alarms go off...
