What do the new SS trucks run??
Does anyone have a clue what a new SS Silverado will run in the 1/4 mile??
It has the 6.0 ltr(the max vortech), auto tranny, rear wheel drive, extended cab with 20's. My buddy is looking at getting one today or monday... Thanks guys

Ask www.fullsizechevy.com I bet they will have a better idea than LS owners.
I am registered on this site for my Z06. And, I am registered on full size chevy for my tahoe, they know their stuff.

I-5 Supercharged.
Nice car, too bad it's not an LS1, LS2, LS6, or LS7.

What? The Chevy trucks are fast. The only reason the lightning is faster is because it's blown. Like all of ford's Okay products, they don't have anything that's fast without it being blown.
If you take a stock Chevy 5.3L and supercharge it, and take a stock lightning which is already supercharged, and run the same boost. The chevy will kill it. It won't even be close. I know, because i have seen it with my friends truck.

Zapfool thought I was talking about the SS, and I was talking about the 1500 Silverado. But I agree with the saying "run what you brung."
But the only way to see who is faster between a ford lightning and chevy silverado is what I was previously saying.

My car would make your truck look like it was standing still. For alot less money, and gets better gas mileage.

all I could find was a 2003 SS . It went 0-60 in 7.2 and 1/4 in 14.9 at 89mph. So I would say looking high 14s. Ill do some more looking though

They aren't AWD anymore, I would think that would get them through the 1/4 a little faster, but they are still lacking in the sport truck market. I would still buy one over a lightning/SRT10 cause they are downright sexy.
I thought I owed the thread a real post
