Wasn't there a caprice wagon in the early 70's with the 454?

E63 AMG wagon. Not as good looking outside as the CTSV, but will smoke one in a straight line and much nicer interior.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Gentleman:
Muscle Wagon (to me) implies a car manufactured during the "Muscle Car" time frame, i.e., 1972 and earlier.
To that end, the Caprice Wagon with the 390hp 454 from 1970 would be my choice.67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...
2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior
2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

Eh, maybe. The E63 doesn't really have anymore power and is about the same weight. The E63 has the 4matic so it is easier to drive but they have both ran 11.7s in the 1/4.
My vote is for the 1994 caprice classic estate wagon. Only because I have had so many good times in one.

My first was a 79 Malibu 2 door. The caprice was my good friends car. It was the stuff 8-12 people into and drive somewhere car. Pretty sure coming back form a party we had 15 people in it.

The Vette and the F-body versions look better than the Magnum.

Come on now you know those magazine drivers can't handle RWD and manual.

I'm sorry, I don't care what the pre-historic definition. I refuse to call something a muscle wagon when it runs the 1/4 in the 15s or 16s most likely
No, no real maybe about it. You're just wrong. I was going to post the video below but I see Scott beat me to it. Even after the launch the E63 is pulling away hard. I love the CTSV, but it got ass raped in that video.
Hey, whatever you need to tell yourself to feel better. If it helps any, the CTSV is a better handling car.

Remember when the c5 Z06 was a high 12 second car? And all the STI/EVO guys thought they stood a chance thanks to magazine 1/4 mile times. Yea, RWD, big power and manual never looks that great in the mags.

Yes, but it is their auto 7 speed. Which is always easier for people to drive fast in a straight line. They have the same hp and curb weight. What is abundantly clear is that magazine 1/4 mile tests with manual RWD cars always fall short of real world results. As I said I agree that the e63 is easier to drive fast in a straight line thanks to the auto and merc tech and most people would get better results because of this.
And if you want to bring the e63 amg into a muscle car wagon discussion then you can't leave out the m5 wagon or RS6 wagon.Last edited by Zinergy; 12-16-2015 at 06:09 AM.

Yes I'm sure the auto trans was solely responsible for the buslengths asskicking that the CTSV got. And why would I HAVE to bring in those other cars?
The only claim I made was that the E63 is faster than a CTSV, which it is.
