I know Ed changed the thing so that spammers can't join if they have a free email address. But what about all the REAL people that want to join that have a free email address and no other? What are they supposed to do to join the site???

And if you have not noticed, you guys don't see too much spam posted. Because most are deleted before you even see them.

I appreciate that the site isnt overrun with spam and ads and pop ups. Ed and the mods have done a fantastic job in regards to that. You guys if you ever have time should check out other car boards. Its nearly impossible to navigate the board just because of the forementioned isssues.

We do lose some. But we would also lose members if this place was overrun with spam.

But sometimes they will contact me and I will verify who they are and allow them to use a free account.

I would rather keep the board spam free.

I got kicked off and couldn't rejoin when I was between internet services and had just yahoo. Once I got my service back up, I was able to register using that account.

It WAS iritating, but if it keeps out spammers, that's a good thing. Although I honestly don't see much spam on other sites I belong to with my yahoo account.
