    98' trans am

    well it happened

    my oil pump went in the middle of a intersection..luckily i was able to get her into a parking lot..plugged in my hp tuners..nothing out of the normal..and no codes..tried starting it up one more time and she seized............


    so i am looking for a ls3 long block or a ls3 short block and going from there...i hope i hear back this week about my job..if so i am getting a g8 gxp or at least a g8 GT ..so you may not be seeing me for much longer gentlemen

    sorry to hear that......did the oil pump just die or did you lose pressure due to a spun bearing or something? Run it hard prior to it happening? Still on the stock pump and how many miles?

    you know....maybe i did spin a bearing to tell you the truth..it started to stall..and my oil gauge was fluctuating between 40 to 0. and then started to knock real bad..then after another start it died and then seized up bad wouldnt even come close to turning over..sounded and felt like the engine was trying to turn over in sand

    about 15-30 minutes before it i got on it..about 50mph to 80. stock pump and 105k

    werent 98's know for bad pumps? Thers probably low mileage takeouts you can get for a decent price. or save up and build up a nice lil hotrod street motor for it, if you have another car.

    you know..today on first start up i noticed a unique ticking sound..wasn't slap and wasnt normal valvetrain noise either

    8.1 is a downgrade.
    Pratt and miller motor is not 8.1 based. The 8.1 is an oil burning boat anchor without large sums of money
