well car got broken into last night!
Last night they got it. They got under the hood first, and cut power, but i still have no idea how they got into the car. No marks no nothing. i thought these cars had some sort of panel in the door so u can't use a slim jim on them?! Low life SOB's. So any ideas how they gained entry? The wierd thing is I could not sleep for shit last night, all my windows were opened, and I didn't here nothing! And my damn AR-15 was sitting 5 ft from my damn bed. If only i would of heard something thre would be at least 1 less low life. Well my fuse is lite and I'm ranting, sorry for the long post i feel like !

I've got a pretty badass alarm on my car with a 5 minute battery backup and remote with LCD to alert me if someone even gets too close. One night I forgot to arm it (passive cause I hate it when they arm automatically) and some asshole went thru my glovebox and center console... the contents were spread all over the car. The quarters that were in the console were still there, they missed the Escort 8500 that I have hardwired in over the rearview mirror, my Hypertech PPIII was in the back seat, and they even missed my pool cues worth about $800! It looked like maybe they got scared off while in the middle of their little rampage thru my things. I was lucky...

Black on Black- 2001 Camaro SS
Did you let her know? She needs to have her bank cards terminated, and hopefully they dont have her information containing her address. Did she have her house key along with her car key? Why I ask that is if they did find info containing her address, they may try breaking into her house, not to mention they have access to her car.

i definitely recommend getting an aftermarket alarm with a pager... best investment you could make! most have an immobilizer as well so it is impossible to start the car

Sucks man, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope you're able to recover it. With the cell phone being stolen, the cops should be able to at least find out who they called (they're dumb enough to steal it, they're probably dumb enough to make a few calls on it).
That kinda depends on what kind of city you live in. Where I grew up, the police force had time to look for petty thieves like that and they would have tried to find them. Here in the Denver Metro area, if someone breaks in to your car, you actually have to DRIVE the car to the station to fill out a police report.

Well theres some positive notes to this and some negative.
Positive:
1. depending on your insurance company .. youre getting an entirely new stereo system and if its state farm they give you equal quality equipment back .. so say you have a 1000 watt jl audio amp.. they dont give you 300 dollars for it because it was 2 years old. They give you exactly what you had.. Same amp just brand new .. they go through a dealer that gives them awesome prices on the stuff because of all the business they bring them with theft recovery. If you need some info on it lemme know.
2. None of your personal info was stolen although your gfs was
thats about it for the positives but if you had a old stereo its a really good positive
Negatives:
1. From my personal experience having my entire system stolen twice, once being right in front of my house, once while we were in a club watching a damn wet t-shirt contest, all cd's are not covered under your insurance because it wasnt part of the affixed stereo system .. in other words it wasnt bolted to the car.... My 12 disc cd changer was stolen.. it was covered but the book of 200 cds wasnt .. and this is the fucked up part... the 12 discs that were inside the cd changer werent covered .. although they were inside and couldnt get them out without powerin up the car.
2. Your sunglasses were stolen and that sucks because I had two pairs of over $150 each Oakleys in my glove box and Id love more than nothing to run into the guy wearing them so I drop punch him in the face haha.
3. You definitely want to call your girl and ask her personal info.. social security number .. what credit card companies she had cards with and her bank account info.. so you have all of this info and call immediately so none of her stuff is used.. credit card comps .. usually ask for name .. bday... mothers maiden name..mailing address bill comes to.. and social security number .. most of the time if you give them that it doesnt matter if it says female and they know youre a guy .. theyll let you talk about the account .. definitely notify them so they freeze the accounts.
The video camera Im sure will be just like the cds .. not covered.. nor will the sunglasses..
Cell phone company she has her service through make sure you call them and notify them so they cancel it too
Getting your car broken into is like being violated or raped in a sense to me personally .. we have a huge front yard ... long ass driveway and my car was all the way up next to the house but that didnt stop someone .. and like you I was awake probably when they did it.. and the glock .45 luckily wasnt in the car like usual that night.
