    I knew somebody would say that and youre right, however, if you bought a 2009 model car now, would you call it a 2008 or a 2009?

    if you bought an '09 model year car then it's an '09...but the build date will be in 2008 by and large...there are probably a few instances that would lead to an '09 model being produced in '09 but i can't think of many except for fleet cars or something like that.

    but when you calculate the age of a vehicle you count the model year into the tally...at least that's what i've always been told by people.
