The Watson Glaser is a powerful measure designed to test high level critical thinking ability. The questionnaire is divided into five sections, each of which measures a different aspect of critical thinking.
The sections are:
Drawing inferences from facts
Recognising assumptions implied by a statement
Reasoning by deduction
Reasoning logically by interpretation
Discrimination between strong and weak argumentsLast edited by burnws6; 06-25-2007 at 03:22 PM. Reason: PS..^^ thats not me talking...its google :D

I found one site that had a 5 question test, kinda weird. Although I(WE) thought our answers correct they were not and the explanation why didnt fit in my opinion. We might answer the question with inadequate info and the answer was true. How so? If it lacks data then you have to with your opinion no? Anyway anyone actually take a test recently. The one he has to take seems like its going to take hours. Whats the best way to prepare? Thanks for any help.

Some comericial security company? Didnt exactly ask but its like adt. He has to do a non compete contract when he quits adt etc... It was crazy the things they wanted him to agree too. They said that he nor his offspring could work it that field for a specified time and some other crazy stuff. Told him to go to the library and see if he can find a book to help prepare.

The Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal WGCTA is an assessment tool designed to measure an individual's critical thinking skills. The examinee is asked to evaluate reading passages that include problems, statements, arguments, and interpretations. The original version of the test (which has two alternate versions-WGCTA-A and WGCTA-B) is comprised of 80 items and can be completed in 60 minutes. The short form (WGCTA-S) is comprised of 40 items and can be completed in 45 minutes.
The WGCTA has a long history of use in educational and organizational settings. It is useful in determining an individual's ability to think critically, assessing if employees have improved their critical thinking from training and instructional programs, as well as for conducting research on the critical thinking construct.
What the WGCTA Measures
The WGCTA produces a single score based upon the assessment of five critical thinking skills:
Inference
Recognition of Assumptions
Deduction
Interpretation
Evaluation of Arguments
Hope this helps. There are workshops that you can take to improve chances. But its not worth it. Just tell your wife's uncle to do his best.
