Is water/wastewater operator a good field?
Didnt know if anyone knows anyone in this field of water/wasterwater operators. Seems like good benefits and stuff since work is with city governments.

it is what it is....steady a bit less than avg. pay with good holidays and benefits
best thing to do would be to be a "go getter" and obtain additional certifications....then go to school a few evenings and obtain a degree in management, personal/hr, or municipal management, or public administration and move on up the food chain

Are you referring to a sewage treatment plant? (waste water) If so, being an electrician myself I spent some time working all over the plants where I live and one thing I noticed was everybody would get sick. Scratchy throat was the first sign, achy body came next. Never really missed work but just felt sick the whole time(2 months).Maybe the regular employees built up an immunity over time.

I used to do contract work at a water treatment plant and it was always one of the cleanest places to work. The employees there made good money and had great benefits.

Cool, the classes are only 3 days then a state test, so i might have to try this out. thanks for the info man

There was just an ad up here for position,Listed 85,000/YR+benefits...Not to bad......Another thing...It is a demand that will be there for quite some time..
