the walking dead/world war Z question

so, i have thought about this.... lets say the SHTF and zombies have taken over would you want to be around other people in a fortress that zombies had no way in to or would you rather be with a smaller group of people looking for an out of the way type place?

i think a group of people would be the downfall because you never know what silly/stupid things they will do. one gets bit and they don't tell anybody is all it takes or your somebody's loved one dies with out the "right" people knowing and they can't bring themselves to do what needs to be done with the body to prevent reanimation..... next thing you know you have a threat from with in where you THOUGHT you were supposed to be "safe".

because of this i'd rather be with a smaller group...

yeah well... more and more i see the "zombies" might be real. OWS for instance..... so i think about it more and more :P

He has all the time in the world to wait you out.

not really true... they are on borrowed time! they are rotting! how long do you think they will last out in the open before the eyes stop working? till the ears don't work so well? till the muscle/tendons pull away and can't move the bones? borrowed time.

I would rather be with close friends and family. Less people to worry about, less egos to worry about.

Weeks. They don't need food or water, they don't even need to breathe. But they can remain animated for a Long time.

In the World War Z book, many people were gotten when they went into the water where Zeke was walking on the bottom.

And one downed pilot found an SUV with a several weeks dead Zeke that was still trying to get her but didn't know how to unfasten the seatbelt.

Zombies only die when the brain is destroyed. If you take the head off at the neck and don't destroy the brain it will keep on trying to bite your ass.

After watching the show, I would sit it out on an aircraft carrier or something else the navy has... Park a mile off coast and fish for free, if its nuclear it will run for 50 years or so without filling up, catch rainwater on the deck, most I would think have an armory for weapons, and best of all sleeping bunks and sealable areas to make sure nothing happens..
