vucking ferizon rant
I hate Dsl tech support............I been on the line with these goddamn chinks/japs/korens or whatever inbred scum they are for 20 minutes I think I'm going batshit-insane........
After 20 minutes the first guy finally "diagnoses" it as a line problem (No sh!t buddy why else does my internet cut out every 15 minutes, and every 5 minutes when its raining??) YES i tried rebooting my computer you dumba$$ yes I tried 3 different wall jacks etc etc. Yes I'm going to pretend to unplug and plug in my modem 10 times to test it......you get the Idea.
Update:
Well he transfers me to "another" number that he says has people behind it that will get a guy out to test the line........well I end up at ferizons main phone menu and get connected to another deushe-bag that tries to go over the same troubleshooting process with me......
He puts me on hold.......after 5 minutes I'm like eff it and redial the main number and ask for "telephone service" instead of dsl......
Finally after arguing with the automated voice for 3 minutes i hear a welcome american voice on the line and within 3 minutes of talking to him he sets up a guy to come out and test the line sometime tomorrow
Cliff notes:
I called verizon DSL tech support
They suck
Its no fun talking to foreigners
Verizon telephone support is hella better than dsl support
Now that I vented that out I feel better. Anyone else have any tech support problems?

Ok update lil update while I am on hold with verizon right now.
This morning they came and tested my phone line and its "ok" so I called dsl support and told them my modem is bad.....since its out of warranty I have to pay $65 for a new one
Hopefully that fixes it.

I get pissed at out-sourced support as well. With the amount of time I have to hold, and the unhelpfulness of the noob who got a "Tech support specialist" certificate from a 5-hour course, it's usually always more useful for me to figure it out on my own.

Dont know about verizon dls but with comcast you can type in 192.168.100.1. You can see the specs of the cable modem and logs. Ask what the specs are aupposed to be and check them so you dont waste the time with a new modem.
