I have a 40" Samsung LCD in the bedroom and a 55" Samsung LED in the living room. I wouldn't ever get anything other than Samsung for a TV. They are not good...they are the best.

The Vizio prolly has a Samsung board in it. These LCDs don't seem to last but a few years in general. I'm getting a 55' Samsung LCD 1080/120 delivered tomorrow from Amazon, read all the reviews, and lots of guys have these issues with Samsung too. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Vizio, just wanted the Samsung. Phillips is a decent budget alternative too.

At my previous job we sold Vizios and I can tell you from first hand experience I would hesitate in a heartbeat to buy a Vizio. We replaced those things all the time. And the only return rate higher then them was probably the companies own brand of LCDs. In the 7 yrs that I ran/over saw the electronics department I can count on 1 hand the number of times I had a Samsung display go bad where as Vizios we were replacing 1 every other month it seemed like. They are nice TVs especially on a budget but they just dont hold up to long term use.

From what I have been able to find, the problem is related to the power board or fuses.idk, but vizio has a bad rep and samsung is well respected so I am getting the samsung not to mention I am upgrading in every aspect,42 to 46,740 to 1080,60Hz to 120hz
